How to Play
There are 3 options when creating your Fantasy Riders team.
Strategy 1 - a starting budget of 60.0, but no transfers
permitted during the season.
Strategy 2 - a starting budget of 50.0, and up to 10
transfers permitted during the season.
Strategy 3 - a starting budget of 45.0, and up to 20
transfers permitted during the season.
When creating your team you will be presented with these 3 options.
Once selected, you are able to switch strategies if you change your mind, but not once the
first cut-off passes; so choose carefully!!!
One you have decided which strategy to adopt, you will be able to
spend up to 20.0 in any one series. Your choice of riders will be influenced by
their fictitious 'price' which has been assigned to each of them for the purpose
of this competition.
By definition, a transfer is required when removing a rider from
your team that is still racing in that series. All players can add riders to their team
without penalty, regardless of the number of transfers available. If your rider is released,
replaced, or injured, all players will be able to remove that rider from their team without
penalty, allowing you to transfer them out and spend the money on a new rider. You will not
'automatically' score points for their replacement rider - it is down to you to make that
change. This applies to all strategies.
All selected riders will score points for your team based on their
performance in each race, as set out on the 'How to Score' page.
Budget Boost - this will take
the form of an additional 10.0
added to every teams budget, irrespective of strategy, allowing
you to add more riders to your team. This is expected to be made on, or about, 20th May 2012.
Series limits will also be uplifted to allow you to exceed the 20.0 ceiling mentioned above.
Please note that the 'cut-off' for any changes is typically
17:00 UTC on the Friday before each race weekend, in cases where races occur on a Saturday the
cut-off will be brought forward to the Thursday. Any changes (or new entries) will be
prohibited
until after the completion of the race, and the competition scores have been uploaded.
